Family Reunions

I went to my mother's family reunion Saturday. My mother's birth father died last year and to his children's surprise, they found out that he had two other daughters from a previous marriage. My mother's newly found family has opened their arms and welcomed us in. We went to the reunion on Saturday. It was fun to see all the similarities that I see in my mom. Like, her half sister was taking pictures of us just like my mom does. A lady there was handing out 2 dollar bills! My Mom loves to give out 2 dollar bills! It was just so fun to see where my mom comes from. I am looking forward to seeing more of them. Sunday we had my father's family reunion. That was a lot of fun to see my aunts and uncles and their families. Usually we do a camping weekend but, we haven't be able to. I do miss the singing time around the fire. I was so glad to see a few of my cousins there that I haven't seen for quite some time. One thing about family reunions is that you see how old everyone is getting like Accalia, Apree and Amarisa (who are all married and Accalia even has two kids!) I use to babysit them!!!! Oh, how I feel so old! OK, but having Nicholas helps me to feel young. I mean I feel like I am still in my twenties! I do love to see my family and I think I am blessed to have such a great one!!

we have just returned from a trip to my husbands family reunion. It was quite a ways away so I have spent the last couple of days blogging about the trip we took.

I will be blogging about the reunion itself tomorrow...We had a great time. I am very impressed with your "new" family welcoming you with open arms...now that is what "family" is all about. It has really got me to thinking about how our family's reunion might be further on down the road.

great post :o) thanks for tellin' us about it.

Cute pictures Jenny. I loved your post about Donny Osmond too. I don't know him, but he sure had a cute nephew that went to Snow at the same time as me. He was deaf like his two uncles. I'm so sad me missed that concert, we had tickets and then I got sick.

How funny that your grandpa never told anyone about other kids. Looks like some people actually have FUN family reunions, too.

That's exciting to learn about family you never knew, and that looked like everyone was having a good time!
