Family Reunions

I went to my mother's family reunion Saturday. My mother's birth father died last year and to his children's surprise, they found out that he had two other daughters from a previous marriage. My mother's newly found family has opened their arms and welcomed us in. We went to the reunion on Saturday. It was fun to see all the similarities that I see in my mom. Like, her half sister was taking pictures of us just like my mom does. A lady there was handing out 2 dollar bills! My Mom loves to give out 2 dollar bills! It was just so fun to see where my mom comes from. I am looking forward to seeing more of them. Sunday we had my father's family reunion. That was a lot of fun to see my aunts and uncles and their families. Usually we do a camping weekend but, we haven't be able to. I do miss the singing time around the fire. I was so glad to see a few of my cousins there that I haven't seen for quite some time. One thing about family reunions is that you see how old everyone is getting like Accalia, Apree and Amarisa (who are all married and Accalia even has two kids!) I use to babysit them!!!! Oh, how I feel so old! OK, but having Nicholas helps me to feel young. I mean I feel like I am still in my twenties! I do love to see my family and I think I am blessed to have such a great one!!

I Love Donny!!!!

Here are some pics of the Donny concert I went to last year. My dear sweet cousin Shauna gave me tickets to the Osmond concert!! I just got home from the Osmond concert at the conference center. It was totally amazing!!! I went with my parents, who came up from St.George. I couldn't get my family to go with me. I do get a little bugged by all the traffic when you go to events at the conference center. Ok, I must say that even though Donny is older, he is still way gorgeous!!! I Love him!! His singing gives me the goosebumps!! The Osmond brothers were fantastic as well. Marie was excellent too. I love her hair! She is so beautiful. All I can think about is Donny!! I know I will sleep good tonight dreaming of Donny!!

Bountiful Parade

We went to the Bountiful parade on July 23. The parade was to start at 6pm, but where we sat it didn't get there until 6:30pm. It was so hot, luckily we had a kind of shady spot. The parade had some cool floats . The parade lasted until 8pm. I thought that was a pretty long parade. I really hate it when the crowd starts moving closer and closer to the middle of the street. I guess that just comes with the excitement of the parade. Scott caught a Frisbee that someone threw to him and the kids got some taffy. I was at the parade with my sister Sarah and her family. They live in a beautiful house in Bountiful. The parade reminded me of times when I was in parades growing up. Oh, how I hated being in parades. OK, I hated wearing the band uniforms, especially in the hot Dixie sun. I mean get real!! If you live in Dixie you need light weight uniforms, not the heavy long sleeve uniforms. The uniforms even had the big hats with a single feather. Yuck I hated those days. There is one time when I was Miss Congeniality, that I did get to ride with the Ivins Royalty. That was ok. Nicholas loved to see the parade. He especially loved the animals. All in all we had a pretty good time.

Girls Camp

I went to girls camp this year. I hadn't been to girls camp for 16 years! I had so much fun!! I loved it!! Lets say, I got to know the girls on a whole new level! They are an awesome bunch of girls. They really look out for each other. We did secret sisters. I had no idea who mine was. I thought it was a leader, but no it was Kensie!
She gave me cute stuff. Girls Camp was at Camp Atoka, about 3.6 miles from Huntsville. We boated at Pineview lake. Boating was fun, even though I didn't get on the boat til the very last time. Hello, It was way embarrassing trying to get on the boat. When we got back everyone was watching me to see how I'm going to get off the boat, so I decided to just go for it and jump right off the boat and into the lake! Anyway, we all got sunburned. Playing games around the campfire was pretty fun too. OK, I was totally bad at playing them, but it was fun anyway. Adam is the funniest person ever! It was fun to have Bishop and Adam there. We made some cute magnet boards too. Nothing like going camping to do crafts. Now that's my kind of camping!! I am so glad I went. I needed the time with the girls and I so need a break from my kids. I love them but sometimes you just need a break. You'll have to ask me about sleeping in the tent and Karen's nightmare. I was trying so hard not to laugh. :)

My Blog

ok, so I am a little slow with this whole blog thing. I just found a ton of people I know who have these awesome blogs. I am so impressed. I was so proud of my little blog until I saw all the awesome things you can do. I guess these next few days I am going to "pimp" up my blog, or try to anyway.

Scott and scouts

Scott just earned his Life in boy scouts. He went to scout camp and earned 5 merit badges. He is on his way to earning his eagle. I guess the hard part is actually trying to come up with an eagle project that gets approved. He will be busy trying to find one. I love getting the mother's pins. I wear them all on a ribbon at each court of honor. I guess you could say I am a proud parent. :)

Norba Nationals

Shawn raced in the NORBA national downhill mountain biking races on Saturday. He came in 2nd place in the sport class division. He won a silver medal. I personally think he needs to retire from the extreme downhill riding. He went riding Tuesday with friends, and lets just say that one of them went home or rather to the ER in an ambulance. It scares me so much when he rides. He gets crazy and wants to show off. He thinks it just way fun and good exercise. I guess I'll just keep praying he stays alive.
